ROOT CANALS & DENTAL IMPLANTS
Root Canals
Root canal therapy is a necessary treatment when infection occurs in a tooth. Infection can develop from large undetected cavities that reach the nerve, as a result of fracture from trauma, bruxing or grinding. Treatment will require antibiotics and cleaning of the infected tooth from the inside. Once healed the tooth will require composite build-up and complete coverage with a porcelain crown. If the tooth is non-restorable and must be removed, a dental implant is a lasting option and can replace the tooth that was extracted.
Dental Implants

If you are looking for a permanent replacement for missing teeth, dental implants offer an effective solution that will look and feel as natural as your original teeth. Unlike dentures, dental implants are permanent and biocompatible titanium artificial roots placed in the jaw bone by a dental surgeon. Bone then becomes integrated around the implant over time and the dental implants become permanent anchors. Dr. Brittain can then build life-like ceramic restorations on them. Aside from providing an attractive and natural result, dental implants help maintain bone, improve chewing performance, and prevent teeth from changing positions creating bite problems. Dental implants offer patients a permanent and attractive alternative to dentures and bridges.
